Advertising/ Release: Signing your registration form will act as a consent to Encore Dance Studio for use of photographs, both still and motion, and that all recordings, filmed or taped may be used by Encore Dance Studio , its agents, representatives or assigns, or publicity, promotion and advertising purposes. I further understand and agree that all such photographs and recordings and that any and all productions thereof are and shall remain the property of Encore Dance Studio, its representatives, agents or assigns. INTRODUCTION TO DANCE & INDTRODUCTION TO DANCE II are wonderful programs to introduce your young dancer to the exciting world of dance. These programs are designed for ages 3-4 and focus on basic rhythm skills, loco motor movements, listening skills, creative movement, body consciousness and self esteem. The curriculum includes pre-ballet, jazz, tap, tumbling and lots of fun! The class is designed to make the first experience an exciting learning experience.
CLASSES:
Parents are invited to observe one class each month to see the progress of their dancers. These are designated on monthly calendars. Please limit class visits to Parent’s Day.
TUITION: $32 is due on the 1st dance class of each month. Monthly tuition costs are pro-rated over the year. Payments can be paid in cash or with check on or before the fist dance class of the month. Payments must be labeled with dancer’s name and what the payment is for and placed in the payment box. A late fee of $15 is added after. There is a $25 return check fee. Please make checks payable to: Encore Dance Studio.
COSTUMING:
Dance clothes, ballet shoes and dance bag are required. These are worn to class all year. Put names on everything! Performing costumes are required for those who choose to perform in our Encore Dance Concert in the spring. Cost will not exceed $100. A $75 costume deposit is due November 1st and is not refundable! The remaining balance will be due by January 2nd. Costume payments are required regardless of child’s attendance after they have been ordered.

Grooming is essential to our professional image. Children who feel beautiful behave beautifully. Correct class outfits should always be worn to class. Dancers should be clean and neat with hair always pulled back for class. NO GUM.

Discipline and a positive attitude are key elements to any successful program. We use Assertive Discipline to teach dancers to manage their own behavior. It makes class a positive experience for both dancer and teacher

Express Classes are a beginning to intermediate program for dancers ages 5-10. Focus is on building excellent dance technique, teamwork and performing skills. Express Classes are designed to help dancers develop technical dance skills through a well-rounded dance education. It also teaches the important life skills of responsibility, self-discipline, dependability, good sportsmanship, friendship and teamwork. The combination of dance and life skills builds strong self- esteem. Membership in these prestigious groups requires commitment, dedication and discipline from dancers and parents.
CLASSES:
Dancers are required to take a minimum schedule of classes. Attendance at all classes is important to the success of the individual dancer and the program. Classes for 2011-2012 are Monday through Thursday and include ballet, jazz, tap, stretch, choreography and rehearsal. Specific class times and day will be emailed or mailed out the beginning of July. Class run Mon/Wed. Or Tues/Thurs. Parents are invited to observe one class each month to see the progress of their dancers. These are designated on monthly calendars. Black or tan jazz shoes may be needed for costuming. Dancers must cover up costumes to and from performances and always be professional. Dancers will have a minimum of 2 performing costumes. They must be paid for in full before dancers will receive their costumes. Dancers are still responsible to pay for costumes regardless of attendance status after they are ordered. Plan on $45-$50 per costume. A $75 costume fee is due November 1st, the remainder balance will be due January 1st.
PERFORMING:
Dancers have a variety of opportunities to perform during the year. Dancers are expected to be at all performances. These will be scheduled ahead of time and posted on the monthly calendar.
Competitions:
There will be 1 competition opportunity a year. This will require a competition fee of $15-$25 per routine and a $55 warm up due March 1st. This is an Optional Opportunity.
PARENT MEETINGS:
Parents are required to attend occasional meetings to receive information on performing, competing and/or travel. These meetings will help all parents to be better informed about our program and the intentions of our staff. Your support and commitment will make a difference in your dancers’ education and experience. We will try to accommodate all schedules.
WORKSHOPS:
There are two DANCE ATTACK workshops each year. This exposure to nationally acclaimed teachers and choreographers is invaluable to a dancer and makes our dancers stand out from the rest. Winter DANCE ATTACK is usually held in Salt Lake City and the dates will be given as soon as they are confirmed.
ATTITUDE & DISCIPLINE:
Discipline and a positive attitude are key elements to any successful program. Our program teaches excellent dance technique and valuable life skills while building self-esteem. We use Assertive Discipline to teach dancers to manage their own behavior. Parents and dancers must have a positive attitude towards the program, teachers and studio. Any problems or concerns should first be addressed with the Dance Director.
COMMITMENT:
This is a one-year commitment that will be a wonderful learning and growing opportunity for each dancer. Dancers will develop many positive skills. Parents and Dancers must be willing to make a firm commitment to the team by attending all classes, performances, rehearsals, competitions and workshops. The rules and guidelines are designed to insure each dancer has a successful and positive experience. Calendars are given each month and are posted on our web site (encoredance.blogspot.com) with detailed instructions and information. Please read them carefully. If dancers must miss class for any reason, they must call the studio and be given permission to miss by the program director. Classes missed must be made up with in one month. Dancers who miss class for any reason may be spaced out of numbers for performing & competitions. Please Contact the Director for appropriate make-up schedule.
Class Withdrawal/Class transfers: In the event that you need to drop from a class a withdrawal form must be filled out and turned into Miss Julia by the 25th of the current month you are in. Any withdrawals taking place in the month you are in will still require full tuition payment for that month. Verbal Withdrawals through an instructor or an Encore employee are not accepted. Forms are available through Miss Julia. No withdrawals are accepted after January 1st. This gives the class the appropriate time frame to prepare for the Spring Recital in May. You will be responsible to pay for the rest of the dance season if withdrawn after January 1st. Remember that if you withdraw you have taken another dancer’s opportunity and studio income and are therefore responsible for the remainder tuition.

Encore Dance Studio provides a beautiful and safe facility for our students to learn and grow. The following policies help students learn respect & courtesy and keep our studio in excellent condition:
1. No food or drinks in classrooms, halls etc. No gum or candy. No Cell Phones.
2. Students must be picked up within 15 minutes of the end of class. Students are never left alone. Please be punctual.
3. Students are expected to pick up after themselves, keep all personal items in bags and display respect and courtesy to all studio property, fellow students, and staff. Put names on everything!
4. Students are not to leave the studio for any reason once parents have dropped them off for class. If you want/need your students to leave, you must pick them up and take them. This is for the safety of your children. Please review this with them.
5. Dancers and parents agree to act in a courteous and polite manner to all teachers, fellow students, and parents. Disrespectful behavior is never appropriate.
6. Every dancer will have a minimum of 2 performing costumes. Costumes cannot be given to the dancer until they have been paid in full. Dancers will be responsible for full payment of costumes, after they have been ordered, regardless of attendance status.
7. Calendars are posted each month on the Studio website- encoredance.blogspot.com to inform you of exactly what is happening in the dance program. If you do not have internet access, you may pick up a calendar or check the bulletin board. Failure to attend classes and rehearsals my result in the dancer being spaced out of the routines.
8. Attendance is critical to the success of our company. Absenteeism must be kept to a minimum and all classes missed must be made up within one month. Companies are offered for dancers who wish to be part of a highly professional advanced dance program and are working on improving technical and performing skills in all areas of dance, including school dance clubs, drill teams & preparing for professional dance careers. Membership in these prestigious groups requires dedication and discipline. Emphasis is on technique with performing and competing opportunities available. Being a member of the Elite Companies at any age will help dancers develop technical dancing skills through a well rounded dance education as well as the important life skills of responsibility, self discipline, dependability, good sportsmanship, friendship and teamwork. The combination of dance and life skills builds strong self-esteem . . . and it is tons of fun!
CLASSES:
Itsy Bitsy Elite( 2 hours a week), Tiny Elite (2 hours a week), Mini Elite (3 Hours per week), Petite Elite (3 hours per week), Small Elite (3 Hours per week)
Jr. Elite Ballet (3 Hours per week), Jr. Elite Co (3 Hours per week), Elite Ballet Company (3 Hours per week), Elite Co. (3 Hours per week).
Company members will be trained in jazz technique, ballet, lyrical, stretch, tap, hip hop as well as choreography & rehearsal.

SCHEDULE:
Dancers are required to take a minimum schedule of classes. Company dancers must have a strong commitment. This promises strong technical results. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday, with occasional rehearsals on Saturday. Elite Company dancers are required to adhere to strict attendance guidelines each month to be eligible for choreography. Make up classes are required if a dancer must miss class.

Fundraising:
We provide 3 fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Cold Stone Pies in November for Thanksgiving, Forbidden Fruits in February for Valentines Day and Cold Stone Cupcakes in March for St. Patrick’s day. These have been VERY successful and can help lighten the financial responsibilities.

Companies must have all black dance attire for rehearsals. Elite Ballet must have ballet leotard, pink tights and pink canvas technique shoes (point shoes as needed) for all ballet classes.

Performing costumes are required for competitions, performances and Year End Concert. We may be using some costumes and/or numbers from year to year. Dancers must have split sole ballet shoes, Pointe shoes (as needed), tap shoes, jazz shoes. Black and tan jazz shoes will be needed for costuming. Dancers must cover up costumes to and from performances and always be professional. Dancers are responsible to pay for costumes in full once they have been ordered regardless of attendance status. Plan on $45-$50 per costume. (All classes will perform at least 3 dances, Jr. Elite and Elite have the opportunity to rent costumes from High School Drill Teams due to the large number of routines they will be performing). Plus a $55 warm up. (if their previous one does not fit) They will be required to have a company bag if they did not get one last year, $25 for Jr. Elite & Elite, $15 for all other companies. A $75 costume fee is due November 1st, the remainder balance will be due January 1st.

Discipline and a positive attitude are key elements to any successful program. Our Elite Company teaches excellent dance technique and valuable life skills while building self-esteem. We use Assertive Discipline to teach dancers to manage their own behavior. Parents and dancers must have a positive attitude towards the program, teachers and studio. Any problems or concerns should first be addressed with the Dance Director.
COMMITMENT:
This is a one-year commitment that will be a wonderful learning and growing opportunity for each dancer. Dancers will develop many positive skills. Parents and Dancers must be willing to make a firm commitment to the team by attending all classes, performances, rehearsals, competitions and workshops. The rules and guidelines are designed to insure each dancer has a successful and positive experience. Calendars are given each month and are posted on our web site (encoredance.blogspot.com) with detailed instructions and information. Please read them carefully. If dancers must miss class for any reason, they must call the director and be given permission to miss by the director. Classes missed must be made up with in one month. Dancers who miss class for any reason may be spaced out of numbers for performing & competitions. Please Contact the Director for appropriate make-up schedule. Class Withdrawal/Class transfers: In the event that you need to drop from a class a withdrawal form must be filled out and turned into Miss Julia by the 25th of the current month you are in. Any withdrawals taking place in the month you are in will still require full tuition payment for that month. Verbal Withdrawals through an instructor or an Encore employee are not accepted. Forms are available through Miss Julia. No withdrawals are accepted after January 1st. This gives the class the appropriate time frame to prepare for the Spring Recital in May. You will be responsible to pay for the rest of the dance season if withdrawn after January 1st. Remember that if you withdraw you have taken another dancer’s opportunity and studio income and are therefore responsible for the remainder tuition.
Companies are offered for dancers who wish to be part of a highly professional advanced dance program and are working on improving technical and performing skills in all areas of dance, including school dance clubs, drill teams & preparing for professional dance careers. Membership in these prestigious groups requires dedication and discipline. Emphasis is on technique with performing and competing opportunities available. Being a member of the Elite Companies at any age will help dancers develop technical dancing skills through a well rounded dance education as well as the important life skills of responsibility, self discipline, dependability, good sportsmanship, friendship and teamwork. The combination of dance and life skills builds strong self-esteem . . . and it is tons of fun!

Itsy Bitsy Elite( 2 hours a week), Tiny Elite (2 hours a week), Mini Elite (3 Hours per week), Petite Elite (3 hours per week), Small Elite (3 Hours per week)
Jr. Elite Ballet (3 Hours per week), Jr. Elite Co (3 Hours per week), Elite Ballet Company (3 Hours per week), Elite Co. (3 Hours per week).
Company members will be trained in jazz technique, ballet, lyrical, stretch, tap, hip hop as well as choreography & rehearsal.
Days and times will be emailed or mailed out the beginning of July.
SCHEDULE:
Dancers are required to take a minimum schedule of classes. Company dancers must have a strong commitment. This promises strong technical results. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday, with occasional rehearsals on Saturday. Elite Company dancers are required to adhere to strict attendance guidelines each month to be eligible for choreography. Make up classes are required if a dancer must miss class.
TUITION:
2 Hours per week: $37
3 Hours per week: $42
4 or more Hours Per week-$47
TUITION: Is due on the 1st dance class of each month. Monthly tuition costs are pro-rated over the year. Payments can be paid in cash or with check on or before the fist dance class of the month. Payments must be labeled with dancer’s name and what the payment is for and placed in the payment box. A late fee of $15 is added after. There is a $25 return check fee. Please make checks payable to: Encore Dance Studio.
Fundraising:
We provide 3 fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Cold Stone Pies in November for Thanksgiving, Forbidden Fruits in February for Valentines Day and Cold Stone Cupcakes in March for St. Patrick’s day. These have been VERY successful and can help lighten the financial responsibilities.
GROOMING:
Grooming is essential to our professional image in class and at performance. Dancers who feel beautiful behave beautifully. Dancers are expected to wear correct class attire and shoes and always have hair pulled back away from face. Dancers who are not dressed correctly may not be able to participate in class. Companies must have all black dance attire for rehearsals. Elite Ballet must have ballet leotard, pink tights and pink canvas technique shoes (point shoes as needed) for all ballet classes.
COSTUME REQUIREMENTS:
Performing costumes are required for competitions, performances and Year End Concert. We may be using some costumes and/or numbers from year to year. Dancers must have split sole ballet shoes, Pointe shoes (as needed), tap shoes, jazz shoes. Black and tan jazz shoes will be needed for costuming. Dancers must cover up costumes to and from performances and always be professional. Dancers are responsible to pay for costumes in full once they have been ordered regardless of attendance status. Plan on $45-$50 per costume. (All classes will perform at least 3 dances, Jr. Elite and Elite have the opportunity to rent costumes from High School Drill Teams due to the large number of routines they will be performing). Plus a $55 warm up. (if their previous one does not fit) They will be required to have a company bag if they did not get one last year, $25 for Jr. Elite & Elite, $15 for all other companies. A $75 costume fee is due November 1st, the remainder balance will be due January 1st.
PERFORMING:
Dancers have a variety of opportunities to perform and compete during the year. Dancers are expected to be at all performances and competitions. Failure to attend class the week of a performance will result in being spaced out.
WORKSHOPS:
Two DANCE ATTACK workshops are available to attend each year as well as other camps and conventions. This exposure to nationally acclaimed teachers and choreographers is invaluable to a dancer and makes our dancers stand out from the rest. Winter DANCE ATTACK is usually held in Salt Lake City and the dates will be given as soon as they are confirmed.
